πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

In Tallinn, the first results of the pilot project Sea Hunt were presented, showing a great deal of interest in real -time our marine environment and many times more in -depth data availability.

Sea Wolf is a digital twin, or virtual platform of the Estonian marine environment, which allows to collect and analyze data through the sea of smart pots in the sea. In the first phase of the pilot project, the need for marine data and services was identified at the moment and future.
In the first phase of the pilot project, it was revealed that the sector needs the most forecasts to plan outdoor work and to help navigate. Nearly 75% of respondents wanted the smartipoid to provide data in real time, significantly improving data time and spatial coverage compared to today. The digital twin of the Estonian Sea is therefore an ambitious project with great potential, which will help to discover marine pollution faster in the future, increase maritime safety and monitor the state of the environment.
Based on the needs, the technologies and solutions analyzed and the results of the pilot project, a draft project that takes into account the circumstances of the Estonian and the Baltic Sea will be proposed. Intermediate results showed that the parameters measured with smart boots are the most wave, currents and temperature data. Many parties were also interested in photos and videos, either to identify long -range, environmental pollution, or, for example, fog and ice conditions, explained Urmas Lips.
The pilot project is funded by the Public Sector Innovation Fund of the State Chancellery. According to Anne Jurgenson, Head of the Innovation Fund, the project is once again a good example of how the quality of public services can be significantly improved with the help of innovative solutions and technology. The first phase of the project provided valuable knowledge of the more detailed needs of the public sector on the marine environment. It is good to move on and find an optimal and cost -effective solution to test on a small scale. The test, in turn, provides important information later on the network for full -time decisions, Jurgenson said.
The activities and projects of the Innovation Fund will be funded by the European Union Cohesion Policy 2021-2027 period from the measure Increasing the Innovation capacity of the public sector. The preliminary study of the pilot project Sea Hunt by the State Chancellery and the Ministry of Climate is conducted by Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) in cooperation with Flydog Solutions OU and Nortal AS.
