📋 Tender Overview
As part of the duplication work on General Elizardo Aquino Avenue and within the Las Residentas Road Corridor project, in the city of Luque, important progress is reported in the construction of the future Las Residentas viaduct. Currently, it is in the assembly phase of piers and lintel beams, marking a milestone in the execution of this infrastructure. Eng. Rogelio Espinola, project director of works, reported that current work is focused on the lifting and assembly of the piers and lintel beams corresponding to frames 1 to 6, the latter located in the central separator of the Silvio Pettirossi Highway. Subsequently, the piers and lintel beams of porches 7, 8 and 9, located on the side of the Nu Guazu Park, will be assembled. The future Las Residentas viaduct will have a total length of approximately 750 meters, a figure that includes the ascent and descent ramps. This infrastructure will be unidirectional and is specifically designed to provide access to all traffic flowing from the center of Luque to Asuncion. The structure will function as the first large U return, definitively solving the congestion at the important intersection node between Avda. General Elizardo Aquino --traditionally known as Tape Tuja-- and the Silvio Pettirossi Highway. To guarantee safety and fluidity during the development of these large-scale maneuvers, traffic management measures are implemented in the work zone. It is important to emphasize that vehicular circulation on Silvio Pettirossi Avenue remains fully enabled. Institutional articulation and the solution to the bottleneck This strategic work is promoted by the Government of Paraguay, through the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), together with the Itaipu Technology Park (PTI) and the contractor company Benito Roggio. The project is part of the comprehensive plan to modernize access to the capital, seeking to optimize road connectivity between the municipalities of the metropolitan area and resolve the historical bottlenecks in the vicinity of the international airport.
