π Tender Overview
Section 14 of the Structural Road Network includes improvements on 21.05 kilometers of the Ecovia between Luque, in Central, and San Bernardino, in Cordillera, with works aimed at optimizing mobility and traffic conditions in a corridor of high residential, tourist and economic activity. This sector corresponds to the layout of route PY02, from km 3,200 to km 24,280, where the renewal of the pavement is carried out, as well as the adaptation of the different road components to respond to the current and future needs of those who use this axis daily. The Structuring Road Network, promoted by the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), includes several strategic sections of access and connection with the metropolitan area, including this corridor that links Luque, San Bernardino and the communities located along the route. Planned improvements One of the main components will be the renewal of the pavement to have a more uniform and resistant surface, in addition to adjustments at connection points with other roads that will facilitate entry and exit maneuvers. The drainage system will also be optimized to reduce the accumulation of water on the road and preserve better traffic conditions during rainy days, contributing to the functionality and durability of the infrastructure. These improvements seek to facilitate the movement of residents, workers, visitors and other users, at the same time strengthening the connection between the metropolitan area and one of the main tourist destinations in the department of Cordillera. Traffic during works Currently, they are completing the yellow horizontal signaling tasks on the edge and center lines of the road, in addition to the delimitation of shoulders and bike lanes. This, to establish a temporary transit scheme to protect users and allow the development of the work. This demarcation differentiates the temporary configuration from that planned for the final stage and allows drivers to be guided during the changes required by the construction process. The estimated investment amounts to USD 175 million and will be carried out by Rutas del Este S.A., concessionaire of the PY02 route, under the Public-Private Alliance (PPP) regime, whose contract includes the construction, operation and maintenance of the road network to guarantee its operation and long-term sustainability.
