On the afternoon of July 30, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense held a briefing conference between the two Ministries (Police and National Defense) in implementing Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP dated September 5, 2019 of the Government in the first 6 months of 2026. In the first 6 months of 2026, the Peoples Public Security force and the Peoples Army have coordinated to effectively implement Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP on coordination between the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense in performing the tasks of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety, fighting crime and defense tasks; Plan No. 106/KH-BCA-BQP dated February 12, 2026 of the Ministry of Public Security - Ministry of National Defense on coordination to implement Decree No. 03/2019/ND-CP; well perform the function of strategic consultation with the Party and State on ensuring national defense and security; Absolutely protect the security and safety of key targets, projects, important political and foreign events of the country. The two forces regularly coordinate to grasp the situation, exchange and verify information, improve forecast quality; promptly advise on many important policies and solutions on defense, security and foreign affairs; effectively fight and handle all types of crimes, ensure security and order on borders, islands and cyberspace. Coordination in mass mobilization, social security, defense and security education continues to be promoted. In particular, the two forces coordinated to effectively deploy the 500 day and night campaign to promote the search, collection and identification of martyrs remains. To date, nearly 1,500 martyrs remains have been collected, more than 81,000 martyrs graves have been sampled and more than 93,000 DNA samples of martyrs relatives have been collected. At the same time, coordinate to protect national sovereignty, ensure security and order in border areas, islands and cyberspace; coordinate in force building, training, coaching, drills, disease prevention and control, natural disaster response, fire prevention and fighting, search and rescue, rescue, civil defense; researching and applying science and technology, ensuring logistics and techniques, and developing legal documents. Speaking at the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong highly appreciated the results of coordination between the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security in recent times, and requested the two forces to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, initiative, and unity in assessing, evaluating, and forecasting the situation; Strengthen coordination in understanding, evaluating, and exchanging information; promptly advise the Party, State and local authorities on policies and solutions to firmly protect sovereignty, sovereign rights, and national security interests; Determined to fight and defeat all plots and sabotage activities of hostile forces and all kinds of criminals.
