Vietnam always identifies copyright as one of the important pillars of the creative economy. In recent times, Vietnam has continuously improved the legal system on copyright and related rights; Strengthen the capacity to enforce copyright in the digital environment, and promote international cooperation to meet the requirements of the integration process and rapid development of technology. In that context, according to Director of the Vietnam Copyright Department Tran Hoang, strengthening the enforcement of copyright rights in the digital environment is not only to protect the legitimate rights and interests of authors and copyright owners but also also contributes to building a healthy creative environment, promoting innovation, attracting investment and sustainable development of cultural industries. Recently, the Vietnam Copyright Office coordinated with the Japanese Copyright Office to organize a Workshop on copyright enforcement in the digital environment with the participation of representatives of state management agencies, copyright enforcement organizations, professional associations, businesses and experts from Vietnam and Japan. The workshop was held. to update the situation of copyright protection and enforcement in the digital environment in the context of strong development of digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI); At the same time, create a forum for management agencies, organizations and experts of the two countries to exchange policies, share practical experiences and strengthen cooperation in the management and enforcement of copyright and related rights in the digital environment. This content is consistent with the direction of cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the field of strengthening copyright protection in the digital environment, preventing copyright infringement, improving capacity and exchanging experiences according to the 2015 Cooperation Memorandum. The Vietnam and Japan Copyright Offices have jointly shared and updated the situation of copyright enforcement in Vietnam and Japan and the results achieved in the management, protection and handling of infringements in the digital environment; Experience in protecting music copyright shared by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ); Experience in protecting comic copyrights of the Japanese E-Book Copyright Association (ABJ; Sharing practical experiences of Kim Dong Publishing House in anti-copyright infringement activities for publications in Vietnam; Sharing activities and experiences in handling copyright infringement cases in the digital environment of CODA Vietnam Center. Besides, direct exchanges on difficulties and challenges in enforcing copyright in the digital environment, coordination mechanisms between state management agencies and owners rights bodies and technology businesses, as well as solutions to improve the effectiveness of detecting, preventing and handling copyright infringement in the context of the development of digital platforms and artificial intelligence. Through these activities, these activities will contribute to strengthening policy exchanges, sharing international experiences, improving enforcement capacity and promoting the construction of a transparent, safe and sustainable digital copyright environment, creating motivation for the development of cultural industries and creative economies of the two countries.
