πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

Bern, 04/11/2025-From March 31 to April 11, 2025, the Federal Army Office for Armasuisse tried the sensor (Radar) TRML-4D for the new system for floor-based air defense of medium range. With the testing, another step in the procurement process was achieved. The properties of the radar were tested in the specific Swiss topography and various clarifications for frequency compatibility with civilian systems such as the weather radar were carried out. The test took place alternately on the federal Homberg and on the grounds of the Emmen airfield.

The future floor -based air defense (Bodluv) contributes to the effect in the context of the maintenance of air sovereignty and air defense and to protect against attacks with long -distance weapons. As part of the integrated air defense (Integrated Air Defense, IAD), the Bodluv threats will combat threats at different distances and heights. The system -based air defense system (Bodluv MR) strengthens the effect in the lower, medium and sometimes upper airspace at medium distances. The aim is to increase the freedom of action in integrated air defense and to regain the ability to resolve the space -related marching aircraft defense. For Bodluv MR, a commitment program 2024 was granted an obligation loan of CHF 660 million.Status of the Procurement processes of the Armasuisse armor, for Bodluv MR Four or Five Systems Iris-T SLM from the German manufacturer Diehl Defense GmbH & Co. KG. Negotiations with the manufacturer are in an advanced phase. The signing of the contract is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2025. The procurement is to take place as part of a program agreement between the European Sky Shield Initiative. Sensor tests on the Homberg and in Emmender Sensor (Radar) is an essential part of the new system. Therefore, the Federal Office for Armaments Armasuisse tried the Sensor TRML-4D from March 31 to April 11, 2025. The test was carried out in cooperation with the army, the manufacturer Diehl Defense GmbH & Co. KG and her supplier, Hensoldt AG. The properties of the radar were tested in the specific Swiss topography and various clarifications for frequency compatibility with civilian systems, e.g. weather radar. The tests took place alternately on the federal Homberg and on the grounds of the Emmen airfield. No shooting attempts were carried out. Little noise emissions were caused near the test site. The aircraft flew different scenarios to test the detection performance, the detection range and the classification performance of the radar. A radar target simulator also served to simulate goals with different speeds and different demanding radar quota cuts. Electromagnetic radiation The Radar antennas send and receive electromagnetic waves. These belong to the group of non -ionizing radiation (NIS). The immission limit values applicable for this have not been exceeded. No radiation values above the legal limit values were to be expected outside the radar security area. The Federal Office for Armor Armasuisse had received a broadcast permit from the Federal Office for Communication Bakom. The renewal will close an existing ability gap in the defense against guns in order to combat approaching goals to a medium distance and thus complement the ground -based air defense of larger reach with the Patriot system. Systems are currently in use your end of use soon. In addition, the existing systems of the Stinger and Medium Aviation defense (M Flab) have only very short ranges - modern fighter planes use their weapons from larger heights and distances.
