π Tender Overview
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) will facilitate the availability of geospatial information through the National Plan for Territorial Observation and thanks to an agreement signed between the National Geographic Institute (IGN), the National Geographic Information Center (CNIG) and ENAIRE.
The agreement signed by the three agencies under the Department aims to develop joint actions in the field of geographic information, so that the needs of all parties are met, ensuring that geographic information is produced in a coordinated and efficient manner.
ENAIRE is interested in high-precision altimetry data obtained from LiDAR (laser object measurement and detection system) to meet the geospatial information needs of civil aviation regulatory bodies, aerodrome operators and Air Navigation service providers in Spain.
In particular, this entity has an interest in point clouds (digital terrain models) whose use allows the identification of obstacles in aeronautical applications.
Data for aeronautical applications
Among the activities to be developed within the framework of this agreement are the generation of orthophotos simultaneous to the LiDAR flight in areas of interest, the development of the data process for aeronautical applications and the publication of the resulting information in the CNIG Download Center.
The agreement will be valid until December 31, 2023, with the possibility of extension for annual periods up to a limit of 4 years and will involve the contribution of work for an estimated total of 498,898 euros between all parties.
The signing of this agreement highlights the importance of collaboration and Mitma's interest in the coordinated and cooperative production and exploitation of cartographic and geographical information between agencies and administrations for a better and more efficient management of public resources.
