📋 Tender Overview
Adif has contracted the supply of the materials for the comprehensive track renewal works on the Xàtiva-Alcoi line; an action framed in the Neighborhood Plan of the Valencian Community.
The investment, close to 7 million euros, includes the manufacture, transport and distribution of 64,100 sleepers, which will be placed together with the other elements of the track superstructure. The supply will be carried out by the UTE integrated by the companies Travipos and Drace Geocisa.
Adif has already bid for more than 101 million euros for the comprehensive renovation works of 64 km of the Xàtiva-Alcoi conventional gauge line, which will homogenize the state of the infrastructure and facilities, thus increasing the conditions of efficiency and reliability of the railway operation and the regularity and speed of circulation and optimizing maintenance work.
Scope of work
The action will take place in the sections Xàtiva-Ontinyent and Ontinyent-Alcoi and contemplates a complete renewal of the line, replacing the elements of the superstructure: rail, sleepers, ballast and track equipment.
Likewise, work will be done on the adaptation of different structures for the future electrification of the line, which will represent the demolition of some upper steps and their replacement by new ones and the increase of the section of the tunnels.
In the metal bridges, among other actions, the sleepers will be replaced to adapt them to the new grades and calculated geometry.
In stations, the length of the platforms will be increased, the pavement will be adapted and a third track will be put into service at Ontinyent station.
In addition, the drainage elements will be revised, work will be done on slopes, trenches and embankments will be treated and protected, technical operations will be developed to connect three level steps and adapt their accesses and anti-vandal fences will be installed.
All these actions contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (ODS) 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), which has among its goals the development of reliable, sustainable, resilient and quality infrastructures.
