Within the framework of the Tourism Strategy 4.0 of the Ministry of Tourism, and in line with the promotion of Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI) in the country and after the incorporation in 2025 to the Ibero-American Network of Smart Tourist Destinations (RIDTI), we share this call.
This initiative is aimed at tourist destinations in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia interested in participating in a comprehensive self-diagnosis and diagnosis process of the DTI model, which also includes the implementation of a digital twin of the destination.
The objective is to accompany destinations in evaluating their level of development in key dimensions such as governance, sustainability, technology, innovation and accessibility. Based on this process, we seek to identify strengths, gaps and opportunities for improvement, promoting more efficient management based on the strategic use of information.
The proposal incorporates a solid technological component aimed at digitization and knowledge management, through tools such as specialized platforms, smart tourist portals and digital twins. These solutions will allow data to be systematized, generate strategic information and strengthen decision making at both an operational and strategic level.
The call is open to local tourism management organizations—members or not of the RIDTI—including destinations that have not previously implemented the DTI model or that wish to align and enhance existing initiatives. Destinations of different scale and level of development can be applied for, as long as they have public or mixed institutional support.
Among the main benefits, selected destinations will have access to specialized technical training, free diagnostics, advanced digital tools and integration into a regional tourism intelligence ecosystem. Likewise, they will be able to strengthen their institutional positioning, participate in visibility and networking events—such as FIDI Rio 2026—and be part of a network of leading destinations in innovation and tourism management.
Process dates:
• Application: from 04/18/2026 to 04/26/2026 (with participation in FIDI Rio) or until 05/04/2026 (without in-person participation).
• Formalization: from 04/27/2026 to 05/10/2026.
• Training and start: from 04/27/2026 to 05/31/2026.
• Technical implementation: from 05/01/2026 to 08/31/2026.
• Results and recognitions: from 08/01/2026 to 09/30/2026.
• Closing and launch: from 10/01/2026 to 12/15/2026.
The process will take place between April and December 2026, combining training sessions, technical implementation and presentation of results, in a regional cooperation framework aimed at consolidating smarter, sustainable and innovative destinations.
