Slovenia Mfa Map Tender

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns in the strongest terms the post by Trieste municipal councillor Lorenzo Giorgi shared on social media showing a map with Slovenian Istria and other parts of Slovenia depicted as being annexed to Italy. Views espousing historical revisionism are in stark contrast with the fundamental principles of the European order and such actions are incompatible with good neighbourly relations and coexistence of the two nations. Slovenia denounces the territorial claims in the post and expects Italian political structures to act in accordance with common European values and the rule of law.
