📋 Tender Overview
Within the framework of the public discussion of the draft Spatial Development Strategy of Slovenia and the draft Environmental Report the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning organized a meeting with associations of municipalities Union of Municipalities of Slovenia - ZOS Community of Municipalities of Slovenia - SOS Federation of Municipalities of Slovenia and Economic Interest Association of Regional Development Agencies - GIZ RDA. The meeting was attended by 9 representatives of these associations.Following the presentation of the draft document a debate was launched commending the opening up to the cross-border area while at the same time the necessity of harmonizing the documents at this level. A more detailed distribution of orientations at the level of wider urban areas was also praised but in certain areas they lacked a clearer view of certain key infrastructures e.g. long-distance cycling and regional rail connections. More detailed directions for tourist areas are missing from the guidelines and questions have also been raised regarding the range of services of general and general economic interest in the centers. Among the challenges for implementing the guidelines was the problem of interdepartmental integration and coherence which should not be transmitted to the local level or to the level of the regional spatial plan. A proposal was made to identify functional areas in the document as a basis for comprehensive spatial and development planning. The Haloze and Pohorje areas and river corridors were cited as examples but the document already includes them.Tomorrow February 6 2020 the drafters of the strategy will meet with representatives of the landscaping institutions.
