The updated shelter, owned by the Chernihiv Professional Lyceum of Railway Transport, was put into operation. It is located in the dormitory of the educational institution, it will become not only a safe refuge during air alarm, but also a modern training area (where students will be able to prepare for classes).
The repair work in the premises was started in January this year and carried out within the Ukrainian-Swiss project EDUP, the total cost of which is almost UAH 3 million. Within three months, water supply, heating and sewage networks were replaced in the shelter, ventilation and power supply systems were repaired, modern bathrooms were set up and the flooring was upgraded, new doors and a mobile inclusive staircase were installed. To create comfortable conditions, new furniture and bunk beds were purchased there.
The official opening of the Skhovka was with the participation of the State Expert of the Directorate of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Kovalenko, the teams of the project EDUP and partners, representatives of the regional and city department of education.
