Senace, through Directorial Resolution No. 00005-2025-SENACE-PE/DEAR of January 19, 2026, granted conformity to the First Sustaining Technical Report (ITS) of the Colquijirca Mining Unit, presented by Sociedad Minera El Brocal S.A.A., which will contribute to the sustainable development of the Pasco region.
The project is located in the district of Tinyahuarco, province and department of Pasco, and involves an investment of more than US$586 million.
The approved ITS proposes the expansion of underground work, relocation of auxiliary components, sale of mineral to third parties, optimization of the mineral crushing process, adaptation of the hydraulic filling plant to a cemented one, implementation of a paste filling plant and its tailings transportation and supply system, among other improvements that guarantee a continuous process of the mining operation.
According to the evaluation, the proposed modifications imply the generation of non-significant negative environmental impacts, which have environmental management measures for their prevention, control and mitigation.
The ITS is an environmental management instrument necessary to make modifications or expansions that generate non-significant impacts on the environment, or that involve technological improvements in a project.
