Sber Group and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology have announced the signing of a deal thatll see them create an ecosystem benefiting the development of artificial intelligence in Russian healthcare with SberMedAI a company established in the summer of 2020 as the ecosystem operator. Combining the solutions designed by Skoltech research teams with Sbers cloud-based engineering infrastructure the infrastructure is set to become the technological foundation for new healthcare services. Developers will have access to new opportunities for working with algorithms an exclusive set of structured medical data as well as tools for their processing.Uniting the solutions of Sberbank and Skoltech CoBrain the library of applications and data sets to assist medical decisions is currently among the largest ones in Russia. The library mainly benefited from the Skoltech project of the National Technological Initiative Development of an information and analytical system for processing big neurodata to support the advancement of NeuroNet CoBrain-Analytics technologies in 2016-2020.The range of medical solutions hosted on the platform spans from the analysis of fluorography images and X-rays to the detection of depression via structural MRI data and is constantly growing.SberMedAI and Skoltech are working on medical solutions using 50 AI models. The solutions are already being used in healthcare institutions across 16 Russian regions with more than 40 million residents.For instance SberMedAI has launched a medical decision support system with algorithms designed by the Sberbank AI Laboratory at the core. With this system a doctor gets a second opinion about possible diagnoses. In Moscow Region Tambov Region Orenburg Region the Republic of Buryatia and Krasnodar Territory the offering called Lungs CT is being piloted to identify lung pathologies including those caused by COVID-19.The use of modern technology in healthcare is decisive for the quality of medical care and its availability serving the interests of the medical community and patients.
