Rostelecom, together with the Trade Union of Communication Workers of Kuzbass, organized an educational meeting on the basics of security in the digital environment for the older generation. Experts from the telecommunications industry, banking sector, and law enforcement agencies told the audience of 60+ the main rules of protection against online fraudsters.
Pensioners were invited to the event - former employees of communications enterprises in the region. Among them are representatives of Rostelecom, Russian Post and the Kemerovo Regional Radio and Television Transmission Center (ORTPC). They learned what manipulations are most often used by attackers today and how to protect themselves and their loved ones from cyber threats.
Former employee of the Rostelecom HR department Elena Nikolaevna Ganzha:
“We are glad that our generation is being gathered to discuss such an important topic. A lively dialogue with experts creates a productive atmosphere for the exchange of knowledge, and you can always get useful advice first-hand. Today, when technology is developing so much, it is important for us retirees to talk about it in an accessible way.”
Especially for the guests of the meeting, Rostelecom held an interactive quiz “Will you fall for the tricks of online scammers?” Those gathered were asked to answer 10 questions to test their level of knowledge. Participants in a game format reinforced key rules, including, for example, not answering calls from unknown numbers, not sharing personal data, not trusting strangers on the phone, politely refusing and calmly interrupting the conversation.
