The chief metrologists of the centers of standardization metrology and testing of Rosstandart in the North-West Federal District discussed the development prospects of a system for ensuring the uniformity of measurements. The central theme was the entry into force of the interstate standard GOST ISO IEC 17025-2019 General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The meeting was held in Petrozavodsk on the basis of the Karelian FMC.As noted by Ruslan Pavlov Chairman of the Council of Chief Metrologists of the Central Metrology Center of the NWFD Deputy General Director Test-St. Petersburg the new standard allows you to make decisions based on real analysis and assessment of the consequences of an incorrect decision. So the document clearly outlines the issues of metrological traceability a new chapter Requirements for the process appeared in the section Methods the concepts of verification and validation are explained. At the same time the standard now contains the section Ensuring Reliability of Results.In general experts note that the structure of the new edition of the document is much more understandable and logical than the previous one. The participants in the meeting decided to prepare and approve the plan for the transition of the regional center FMC to the application of GOST ISO IEC 17025-2019 in accordance with the Order of the Federal Accreditation Committee dated August 9 2019 No. 144.Recall that GOST ISO IEC 17025-2019 came into force on September 1 2019 instead of the 2009 standard. According to STANDARTINFORM the document became the most demanded standard in August interest in it was shown at least ten times more often in comparison with any other GOST.The standard is aimed at building confidence in the activities of laboratories and establishes general requirements for the competence impartiality and stable functioning of laboratories is aimed at laboratory customers regulatory and accrediting bodies organizations using a parity assessment when confirming or recognizing the competence of the laboratory.In addition to Russia the rest of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union EAEU - Armenia Belarus Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan - joined the standard which will allow unifying the activities of testing and calibration laboratories in the Eurasian space. Also Tajikistan and Uzbekistan joined the standard.Other topics of the meeting of the NWFD metrologists included the transfer of information on the results of verification to the Federal Information Fund for Measuring through FSIS Arshin and the expansion of metrological capabilities in the regions in particular for verification of total stations and range finders.
