π Tender Overview
The Eurasian Economic Commission has completed the development of uniform standard requirements of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union for the search and identification system for explosives and narcotic substances - an important component of the EAEU external border control system. The document was adopted at a meeting of the Commission Board on November 30. Previously, different national standards were applied in the countries of the Union. Monitoring devices were used, the characteristics of which could differ significantly.
βThe adoption of standard requirements within the EAEU will allow us to harmonize the approach of the union states when implementing customs control along the entire external border of the Union,β emphasized Eldar Alisherov, EEC Minister for Customs Cooperation. βAt the same time, the Unified Standard Requirements take into account the features of equipping various types of checkpoints of the Union member states.β
The minister noted that the document is aimed, first of all, at reducing the risk of illegal movement of narcotic and explosive substances into the EAEU and optimizing standard requirements for the system of their search and identification. The adoption of uniform standard requirements will help improve the safety of citizens of the Eurasian βfiveβ countries.
