Since the beginning of the year, more than two thousand residents of the Kursk region have connected to the Internet from Rostelecom using GPON technology (“optics to the home”). Almost half of the new contracts were concluded in the Glushkovsky, Korenevsky, Kursky, Kurchatovsky and Lgovsky districts. Compared to the same period last year, the number of service users increased by 30%. The total number of subscribers of the provider exceeded 15 thousand.

“Our priority task is to provide high-quality communications to Kursk residents living both in cities and small towns. Therefore, Rostelecom is constantly expanding the geographic coverage of the region with its network. Over the past five years, GPON technology has come to 40 localities [1] . Specialists have laid more than 445 kilometers of optical communication lines. Thanks to this, high-speed Internet and any resource-intensive services became available to residents of 38 thousand households. As a rule, new subscribers are not limited to connecting only to Internet access. In addition to it, they choose the Wink video service or the Lyceum educational platform.”
Rostelecom Lyceum is an online educational resource that brings together more than 5.7 thousand lessons across the entire school curriculum (from 1st to 11th grades). The platform's content is constantly updated. Teachers from leading Russian universities participate in the development of training courses.
