Rostelecom has begun the first stage of digitalization of wastewater environmental monitoring under a contract concluded with Rosvodokanal Barnaul (Barnaul Vodokanal LLC). The company will develop a project to implement an automatic control system for pollutant discharges (SAKS) at the enterprises wastewater treatment plants.
SAKS is a set of technical and software tools for continuous monitoring of the quality of wastewater discharged into water bodies. It measures mass concentrations of pollutants and transmits these indicators to the state register of objects.
Within four months, Rostelecom specialists will conduct an inspection of structures, cable routes and land plots, determine the installation location of analytical equipment, wastewater discharge, and the location of the server room. After this, a list of necessary measuring equipment will be prepared and working documentation will be developed. To complete the stage, it will be necessary to carry out examinations and approve the project in the relevant government bodies.
Andrey Polyugo, General Director of Rosvodokanal Barnaul:
We use the best available digital technologies that are being introduced today in the housing and communal services industry. Installing SAKS is an important step in modernizing the water treatment and wastewater treatment infrastructure. The solution ensures objectivity, transparency and reliability of environmental monitoring, which meets modern industry standards, improves the quality and reliability of public services for city residents.
Olga Kuryleva, director for corporate and government segments of the Altai branch of Rostelecom:
SAKS is one of the elements of the Digital Vodokanal solution, which we are implementing in water supply systems throughout Russia. It is already successfully operating in several regions, improving the environmental situation and making the lives of citizens more comfortable. In Barnaul, we are using our accumulated experience to create an effective and reliable environmental monitoring system.
