In order to support the citizens especially those eager to go on holiday during the summer but also the Romanian citizens from the Diaspora returned to the Romanian lands the staff of the passport system continues to make sustained efforts to issue simple electronic passports in the most short term.Thus the constant concern for providing quality services has been put into practice by issuing passports within an average of 2.5 days registered at national level compared to the legal settlement period of 15 working days established for situations in which passports are collected. from the country from community public passport services.This deadline for issuing a simple electronic passport of only 2.5 days is one of the shortest deadlines for issuing travel documents compared to the normal issuance deadlines set in other EU countries.At the same time we inform the citizens that at the level of passport structures until 31.08.2021 the extended work schedule with the public is maintained between 08.00-20.00 from Monday to Friday so that interested persons can schedule online on platform www.epasapoarte.ro in order to submit applications for issuing passports during this time.From the beginning of 2021 until now compared to the same period of 2020 there has been an increase of over 90 in the number of applications for the issuance of simple electronic passports respectively an increase of over 85 in the number of simple electronic passports issued to citizens.In view of the above-mentioned aspects in order to streamline the activity of solving the applications regarding the issuance of simple electronic passports other measures have been ordered for the summer period of this year meant to ensure the resolution of the applications quickly such as- relocation of 20521 applications received between 01.07-13.08.2021 from the community public services of passports that registered a higher load to those with a lower volume of applications ie 15 of the total applications received during this period time of passport structures with a greater influx of applications.In this context we inform the citizens that the simple electronic passports that were issued during this period having under the heading Issuing authority another Community public passport service instead of the one in whose territorial area the applicant resides are issued in compliance with legal provisions. In force the power to process applications for the issuance of simple electronic passports lodged in the country rests with any Community public passport service and this measure has been ordered for the purpose of issuing simple electronic passports as soon as possible.- having regard to the pandemic context which has reduced the degree of mobility of citizens in order to facilitate their obtaining simple electronic passports between 01.01-12.08.2021 297 requests were made in favor of the Directorate-General for Passports citizens after the submission of applications in order to change the location of picking up simple electronic passports either from one territorial structure of passports to another or from a passport structure in the country to a diplomatic mission or consular post of Romania abroad and vice versa thus registering an increase in the number of such requests by about 172 compared to the same period of 2019.- the activity of personalization and involvement of simple electronic passports at the level of the Single National Center for Personalization of Electronic Passports within the General Directorate of Passports is carried out until 31.08.2021 between 06.00-22.00 from Monday to Friday including on weekends when the situation requires it.We remind citizens that they have the opportunity to opt for sending the simple electronic passport to their home address in the country through PrioriPost the express courier service of the Romanian Post and starting with 01.08.2021 the fee charged for this service is 11.30 RON VAT included payment being made upon delivery of the document.
