πŸ“‹ Tender Overview

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) continues with road improvement work in the district of San Ignacio, department of Misiones, as part of the Rehabilitation and Maintenance Contract (CREMA) of route PY01, known as Malla Sur. In this context, an information meeting was held with neighbors to present technical, social and road safety details about the construction of the bridge over the Mayor stream, a work that aims to improve connectivity and circulation in the area. During the meeting, technicians from the MOPC Project Execution Unit answered questions, explained the socio-environmental measures and shared the progress. For its part, the contractor company explained the scope of the work and the expected benefits in terms of security, accessibility and traffic. Key work for connectivity Among the main interventions, executed by the Santa Rosa Consortium and supervised by the SPDYD Consortium, the construction of this new bridge stands out, which will facilitate the connection between communities, access to services and local economic movement. Likewise, completion, irrigation and placement of asphalt work is being carried out at the accesses to the auxiliary bridge and the pedestrian bridge over the Mayor stream, Encarnacion side, which are essential to guarantee adequate circulation conditions in the intervened area. Detours and traffic ordering In this context, it was reported that a traffic detour will soon be put into operation to allow intervention on the main road of route PY01 and continue with the work on the Mayor stream. This measure is essential to advance on the planned schedule, prioritizing the safety of users and the personnel in charge. Light traffic will be redirected along Estero Bellaco Avenue and Cacique Arapysandu Street, while heavy vehicles must circulate through the Tanarandy area, with signage and the support of crews to maintain order and traffic safety along the entire route. In this regard, residents valued the space for dialogue and highlighted the importance of having clear and timely information about an intervention that directly impacts their daily mobility. The CREMA Malla Sur contract covers 167.9 km of the PY01 route, from San Juan Bautista (Misiones) to Encarnacion (Itapua), and is executed in compliance with strict socio-environmental measures established by the financing entity, the World Bank. All of this is part of the Enablement of the Paved Network - Transportation Connectivity program, which is developed under service standards, whose scheme includes a first stage of road fine-tuning and a second (current) maintenance stage. The main items include work such as patching, asphalt overlaying, sewer cleaning, drainage maintenance, signage and complementary works. Date: April 7, 2026
