The status of strategic projects such as the Una de Gato Bridge, the Sullana-Tumbes road and the entrance bridge to the region were evaluated.With the objective of evaluating the monitoring and progress of the main road infrastructure projects in the Tumbes region, the Minister of Transportation and Communications, Aldo Prieto Barrera, held a working meeting with Congressman Hector Ventura Angel, in which the situational status of various interventions in the region was announced.
From Provias Descentralizado, it was reported on the paralyzed work of the Una de Gato Bridge, pointing out that the modification of the budget and the preparation of the call for the execution of a 700-meter section are currently being carried out. Likewise, it was indicated that the appraisal for the release of land has already been carried out, leaving an approximate balance of work of 4 million soles.
For its part, Provias Nacional provided information on the maintenance of the Sullana-Tumbes highway. It was stated that at the end of last year a service to recover trafficability began and should end in March 2026, however, it presents delays and non-compliance that are being managed with the contractor, in order to address the critical sectors affected.
Regarding the entrance bridge to the city of Tumbes, Provias Nacional, through the Bridges Directorate, reported that the comprehensive repair of the structure will be carried out. The work includes the repair of entry and exit joints, maintenance of the structure, as well as intervention in supports and heads, among others, which currently affect the stability of the bridge.

Specialists from Provias Nacional and Provias Descentralizado participated in the meeting, who reaffirmed the MTCs commitment to promoting the unblocking and timely execution of these priority works for the development and connectivity of the Tumbes region.
