Pharmaceutical orientation is important for people to use prescribed medications correctly, thus ensuring their effectiveness and the effectiveness of the treatment, it also helps prevent them from incurring unnecessary expenses derived from self -medication, said the general director of Digemid, Delia Davila.
He explained that the pharmaceutical orientation allows people to know the right way to take each medication, including whether they should be taken with or without food or the recommended time before or after meals; In addition to informing about possible adverse effects and interactions with other pharmaceutical products, especially in cases of chronic diseases.
It is essential to acquire medications only in authorized pharmacies and apothecates and demand the presence of a pharmaceutical chemist to receive adequate orientation, considering that this health professional is obliged to provide the required advice during the entire care hours of the establishment, he emphasized.
In this sense, Delia Davila expressed her greeting and recognition of the pharmaceutical chemists of the DIGEMID and the entire country, for their work in the protection of the health of our population.

The Peruvian Pharmaceutical Chemist Day is celebrated on May 13 in commemoration of the inauguration of the institutional premises of the National Federation of Pharmaceutical Chemists of Peru in 1939. The Ministry of Health officialized this date in 2001.
