📋 Tender Overview
The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), linked to the Ministry of Communications, announced a new digital tool to facilitate the licensing of Amateur Radio Service stations in Brazil. The novelty promises to make the process simpler and faster for those who use amateur radio in the country.
The solution is the MMAR module (Maritime Mobile, Aeronautical Mobile and Amateur Radio), which will operate within the Mosaico system, Anatels digital platform. With it, amateur radio operators themselves will be able to request services, monitor the processing of requests in real time and issue the license directly over the internet.
Currently, Brazil has around 44 thousand certified amateur radio operators and tens of thousands of licensed stations. With the new tool, the entire process becomes 100% digital and in a self-service format, which should reduce bureaucracy and speed up the release of licenses.
Easier for radio amateurs
Through the new National Telecommunications Agency platform, users will be able to make eight types of requests online, including:
* inclusion of new amateur radio stations
* deleting stations
* radio frequency renewal
* Amateur radio class promotion
* transfer of ownership of stations
Another new feature is that the license can be issued immediately by the user, as soon as the mandatory fees have been compensated, such as the Installation Inspection Fee (TFI). As a result, it will no longer be necessary to request a duplicate of the document from the agency.
The new module also automatically integrates with the Electronic Information System (SEI), ensuring greater security and organization in the order analysis process.
The change also meets the updates brought by Resolution No. 777/2025, which established the new Telecommunications Services Regulation, modernizing the sectors rules.
Transition period
To ensure smooth adaptation for users, Anatel established a transition period of three months. During this period, radio amateurs will be able to make requests through both the old system and the new platform.
After this stage, the MMAR module will become the main channel for amateur radio licensing services in Brazil, concentrating all requests in a single digital environment.
