Her Excellency Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, participated in a media stand organized by the group of countries signatories to the initiative calling for an end to the transfer of arms to Israel, at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
The group explained that the initiative comes in light of the grave concern over the unprecedented escalation of violence and flagrant violations of international law in the Gaza Strip.
The group also stressed the importance of stopping the supply or transfer of weapons and ammunition to Israel, which may be used in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.
