📋 Tender Overview
The Institute of the Sea of Peru - Imarpe, carried out the evaluation of submerged vegetation, plankton and water quality in Lake Menor of Lake Titicaca. The study will characterize the coastal zone of this body of water and will serve as a technical basis for the aquaculture order and sustainable development of aquaculture, oriented to rainbow trout cultivation (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
The evaluation seeks to obtain updated data on the dynamics of currents, biological and physicochemical conditions of the ecosystem. This information will strengthen decisions oriented to the development of trout aquaculture activity, minimizing the effects of eutrophication and preventing future negative impacts that may affect the development of this activity in Lake Minor of the Titicaca.
The study was conducted from August 4 to 8, 2025, aboard the Bic Imarpe VIII scientific research vessel and covered the Peruvian sector of Lake Minor, specifically the areas of Anapia, Tinicachi, Unicachi, Yunguyo and Copani.
