📄 Tender ID: 528936736 📅 Published: 14 Feb 2026

📋 Tender Overview

This intervention to address emergencies in the Central Jungle is part of the National Provias Bridges Program and required an investment of more than S/ 7 million.Within the framework of the modular bridge installation service aimed at reinforcing road connectivity in the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro Rivers (Vraem), the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), through Provias Nacional, completed the installation of eleven metal structures on the PE-5S national route, Puerto Ocopa-Poyeni section, in the district of Rio Tambo, province of Satipo, Junin region.

As part of the completion of the work, the Antunez-Materiato bridge was commissioned, an activity that included the participation of the technical secretary of Provias Nacional, the entitys technical team and representatives of the District Municipality of Rio Tambo.

Together, the Antunez-Materiato, Rio Seco Otica, Benni, Kitonido, Pablito, Lucama, Abrang, Quitofa, Vicariato-Carlangas, Matoveni-Fabian and Manitinaja bridges add up to more than 300 linear meters of modular infrastructure, allowing for a significant improvement in trafficability in one of the most remote and strategic areas of the central jungle.

These structures have been designed under technical standards that guarantee safe and continuous circulation, even during the rainy season, when the increase in river flow usually interrupts vehicular traffic.

The intervention required an investment of S/ 7.8 million and is part of the National Provias Bridge Program, an initiative aimed at replacing and modernizing road infrastructure in the National Road Network, ensuring permanent and safe connections.

The putting into operation of these bridges directly benefits the communities of Vraem, especially the population of the province of Satipo, dedicated mainly to agricultural activity, with crops such as cocoa, coffee, citrus fruits, corn and peanuts. Likewise, it improves connectivity conditions for the native Ashaninka communities settled in the area.

This commissioning not only responds to a technical solution in emergencies, but also has a direct impact on the citizen: it reduces transportation times and costs, facilitates the delivery of agricultural products such as cocoa and coffee, and improves access to health, education and basic services for the communities of Satipo and the Ashaninka towns. Safe connectivity means development and opportunities for those who need it most, declared the Minister of Transportation and Communications, Aldo Prieto.

With this intervention, the MTC, through Provias Nacional, reaffirms its commitment to territorial integration, economic development and improving the quality of life of the most remote populations in the country, contributing to closing gaps in road infrastructure.
