President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed about the progress of major investment projects in the copper industry and future plans.
Copper is becoming a strategic raw material for industry, energy, electrical engineering, digital economy and green development. Therefore, in our country, special attention is being paid to the expansion of geological exploration, effective exploitation of existing reserves, deep processing of raw materials and production of high added value products.
In March of this year, the first line of the 3rd copper beneficiation factory was put into operation at the Olmaliq Mining and Metallurgical Combine. The cost of this project, which is being built on an area of 196 hectares, is 2.7 billion dollars as part of the development program of the Yoshlik-1 mine. After the plant reaches full capacity, it will be possible to process 60 million tons of ore and produce about 900,000 tons of copper concentrate per year.
In todays presentation, information was given about the work being carried out to launch the next shifts of the factory, establish technological processes on a stable basis, and reach the planned capacities on time.
In particular, a clear schedule has been set for the step-by-step full capacity of the ball mills and flotation lines in the crushing plant.
By the end of this year, the task was set to further increase the volume of ore processing at the 3rd copper beneficiation plant, to fully operate all the main technological chains and to ensure the stability of production.
After the 3rd copper beneficiation plant is fully operational, the daily production volume of copper concentrate at the combine is expected to increase from 2,400 tons to 5,000 tons. Due to the introduction of modern technologies, it becomes possible to reduce energy consumption and cost, increase labor productivity.
The issue of accelerating the development of the 4th copper enrichment plant project was also discussed in the presentation.
Today, within the framework of the project, basic engineering documents are being prepared, earthworks and geological drilling are being carried out on the construction site.
In this project, taking into account the experience of the 3rd factory, special attention is paid to optimization of technological solutions, efficient use of energy and water resources.
Also, in cooperation with international engineering companies, the measures for preparation of the technical and economic basis of the project for gravity, flotation, drying of concentrate and condensing of residues, improvement of technological chains, attracting funds from foreign financial institutions have been defined.
Officials were instructed to allocate the necessary land areas for the 4th copper beneficiation factory, to continue the preparatory work at the construction site, to complete the basic engineering documents within the specified period, and to clarify the plan for the phased launch of the project.
