Prime Minister Meets Tender

ORANJESTAD--On July 22 the prime minister of Aruba mr. Mike Eman and the Department of Foreign Affairs (DBB) met with the Association of Consuls in Aruba (ACCA). This was the first official meeting of Prime Minister Mike Eman with the Consular Corps.During the meeting several important topics were discussed mainly as a continuation of previous ones to strengthen cooperative relations. Additionally the gathering provided an opportunity to meet new ACCA members and discuss issues that are important to the communities they represent.Consuls represent a country in another country in this case Aruba. Their principal role is to assist citizens in emergency cases provide consular services and promote trade culture and diplomatic cooperation. In Aruba we have more honorary consuls than career consuls. A career consul is a diplomatic official who works for the government of his country. Honorary consuls are local persons who represent a country and act as the first point of contact with the government of the country they represent.Due to the importance of collaboration between countries and their citizens in Aruba the prime minister expressed his commitment to holding regular meetings with the Consular Corps. This is to ensure that the lines of communication and diplomatic cooperation remain open and solid.Prime Minister of Aruba mr.
