Expansion to 770 meters in length
Neue Fahrbahn und breitere Gehwege
Transport Minister Bernreiter: Significant improvement for the people in Neundorf!
The Kronach district, together with the Mitwitz market, is expanding the district road KC 14 in the Neundorf through town: There is financial support for this from the Free State of Bavaria, as Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter has now promised: People and the economy depend on reliable and safe roads. This is particularly true for rural areas! The situation for the people in Neundorf is improving significantly - especially for pedestrians and cyclists. Thats why we are happy to take the money and support the expansion with around 1.8 million euros.
The district road KC 14 connects parts of the main town of Mitwitz and the Neundorf district to the St 2208. The street and sidewalks in Neundorf are currently in poor condition and do not meet todays requirements for road and traffic conditions when driving through town.
With the expansion, the 770 meter long section will be made fit for the future: the street will continue to be six meters wide - the sidewalks will be widened by 30 centimeters each to 1.8 meters.
The road will be completely closed and expanded in sections for the measures. At the same time, the Mitwitz market is replacing the street lighting and expanding the local fiber optic network.
The total costs amount to around 2.99 million euros. The Free State of Bavaria will cover around 1.8 million euros as part of funding under the Bavarian Municipal Transport Financing Act.
In total, districts, cities and municipalities in Bavaria receive around 250 million euros annually from the Free State for projects to improve their road networks. In addition to strengthening roadways and bridges, this also includes, for example, the construction of cycle paths, the traffic-safe conversion of intersections and the construction of bus lanes.
