📋 Tender Overview
July 21, 2026
Today (July 21st) the Council of Ministers gave the starting signal for financing 13 additional hospital construction projects. Bavarias Finance and Home Affairs Minister Albert Furacker and Bavarias Health and Care Minister Judith Gerlach pointed this out in Munich. These projects will trigger investments with a total volume of almost 600 million euros.
In the 2026 financial year, the Free State of Bavaria is once again setting a clear focus on promoting hospital investments and is carrying out this important task responsibly: with 900 million euros - and therefore 100 million euros more than in 2025 - we are supporting hospital investments powerfully and in a targeted manner. The funds are resources well invested in the health care of our citizens. In Bavaria, we implement hospital projects continuously and in line with needs, said Furacker happily on the occasion of today Council of Ministers decision.
With todays decision, the new hospital projects receive the financial security that is so important for them: thanks to the solid planning basis, the hospital owners can continue to push forward with their projects. At the same time, we are boosting the construction industry, the skilled trades and the medical industry with new orders and large projects, continued Furacker.
So that our hospitals can continue to offer modern, high-quality care for patients in the future, the clinics buildings and equipment must be continuously modernized and expanded. With todays cabinet decision, we are making the clinics in numerous regions fit for the future. Our investments are an important building block for this, emphasized Gerlach.
The funding currently approved will flow into various measures to modernize the examination, treatment and care areas as well as to optimize operational structures.
The quality of care in the clinics will improve significantly. In addition to the patients, the employees in the hospitals will also benefit from this, added Gerlach.
Together with the ongoing projects, investment funding with a total volume of around 6.2 billion euros is planned for the Bavarian clinics to finance current construction projects.
Effective care for people in rural areas is particularly important to me. With a volume of around 3.8 billion euros, over 60% of all funding budgeted in the hospital construction program is earmarked for projects at clinics outside metropolitan areas. Bavaria is investing - for the benefit of the patients, continued Gerlach.
