Urban development programs living centers, social cohesion and growth and sustainable renewal
Strengthening the town centers, promoting social cohesion and revival of fallow land
More than 28 million euros from the federal and state governments for 75 Upper Palatinate communities
Urban development is one of the most important instruments of urban development. This year, too, considerable funds from the three federal-state programs to Bavaria will flow again: In 2025, together with the federal government, we will provide more than 205 million euros for 444 cities and municipalities, including more than 28 million euros for the Upper Palatinate, said Bavarias Minister of Construction Christian Bernreiter. With these means, we support you in investing in your municipal infrastructure and increasing the quality of life for local people. In addition to large cities, especially the cities and municipalities in rural areas benefit from this.
With the help of urban development, cities and municipalities create lovable town centers and livable living environments with the Living Centers program. The Growth and Sustainable Renewal program helps the cities and municipalities to adapt their structural structures and public space to new and changing needs. The Social Cohesion program aims to increase the quality of living and life as well as the variety of uses in the quarters, to support the integration of all population groups and to strengthen cohesion in the neighborhood.
We support every municipality in finding precise solutions to cope with their urban planning challenges. Our urban development funding shines through versatility and simplicity, explains construction minister Bernreiter: Richtschnur is always our own urban development concept of every community. We offer the municipalities the best possible support in maximum freedom. This has been a success model for more than 50 years!
The impetus and bundling effect of urban development funding is literally: 1 euro government funding trigger a further 7 euros of public and private investments. This was recently confirmed in an expert opinion - as well as the positive contribution of urban development to municipal climate protection.
Thanks to the urban development funds, for example, the city of Pleystein can redesign its city center with market square and Steingasse. The public space should be barrier -free. Parking, additional trees and attractive play and open spaces will make your stay in the historic old town more attractive for all people. The project is the result of a - also subsidized - urban planning competition.
With the support of urban development, the city of Hirschau will fill an empty property in the city center with new life. The historic building is to be renovated. Afterwards a small cafe will move in on the ground floor. New living space is being built on the upper floors.
In the city of Waldershof, roads and footpaths are upgraded in the town center with the funding. Specifically, the environment of the recently renovated parish church, the newly built childrens home and the modernized school with a new sports hall is being redesigned. In the future, an attractive public square with trees and benches will invite citizens to linger. The extensive renovation and new construction measures in the school district are thus graduated.
In Bavaria, 444 Bavarian municipalities are funded in the three federal-state city development programs living centers, social cohesion and growth and sustainable renewal. Together with the funds of the municipalities, a good 276 million euros are available for the projects. Citizens and local actors can get involved and are an important factor for success.
The funding is subject to the entry into force of the administrative agreement in 2025 after the counter -drawing of all 16 federal states.
