📋 Tender Overview
Federal Minister Katharina Reiche announced today the launch of the SVI-Connect Platform. With the platform implemented by the Federal Association of Materials Management Purchasing and Logistics (BME) and the Federal Association of the German Security and Defense Industry (BDSV) companies in the security and defense industry (SVI) are to be specifically networked with industry partners. It aims to systematically bring together needs and offers to ensure the rapid ramp-up of the security and defense industry. It also contributes to resilient and diversified supply chains.
We must decisively strengthen our defense capability - with state-of-the-art technology scalable capacities and an industry that can deliver quickly. With the SVI-Connect platform we provide a digital tool that brings partners together and accelerates cooperation. This creates a network system that supports companies in ramping up their production and diversifying their supply chains.
Dr. Hans Christoph Atzpodien Managing Director of the Federal Association of the German Security and Defense Industry e.V.:
Our association suggested the platform developed by the Federal Association of Materials Management Purchasing Logistics - BME - and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy to enable a quick supplement of existing armaments supply chains with suitable resources from other industrial sectors. It is now crucial to equip our armed forces and all security agencies called upon for overall defense so that we can be fully deterrent and resilient as quickly as possible.
Dr. Lars Kleeberg Kleeberg Managing Director of the Federal Association of Materials Management Purchasing and Logistics e.V.:
The geopolitical turning point in security policy shows: A strong defense capability requires transparent reliable and fast supply chains. SVI-Connect enables exactly that: The platform invites all industries that can contribute to the ramp-up to network and jointly build the resilient structures that are crucial for the future of the economy and defense capability.
The SVI-Connect platform is designed as a demand platform from the perspective of the demand holders from the SVI. Suppliers present their capabilities and offers. Companies in the security and defense industry can view these and make contact if interested. Registration on the platform for suppliers will be possible immediately.
The matching function - and thus the commissioning of the platform - will start on January 1 2026. The BDSV has financially supported preliminary work for the establishment of the platform. The BME bears overall operational responsibility.
The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has approved funding of 97416 euros for the operation of the SVI-Connect platform for the year 2026.
