π Tender Overview
Anyone who has funded the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) was concluded with application -related results. As planned the funded teams have developed trustworthy data rooms and smart services for various industries. The areas of education finance health construction mobility aviation and space travel maritime and the public sector were represented. The runtime of the projects ended yesterday. The results from the projects should be usable beyond the funding.
: I am happy about the success and high market potential of the GAIA X funding projects. Innovations like these strengthen digital sovereignty competitiveness and resilience in Germany and Europe. Now it is about establishing the applications and data spaces in practice as broadly as possible.
The BMWK had launched the GAIA X promotion competition 2021 to promote innovative applications and data spaces based on the GAIA X infrastructure as a lighthouse projects. The promotion of the eleven projects amounted to around 132 million euros by 2025. The Federal Network Agency carried out the GAIA X promotion competition on behalf of the BMWK.
The applications and data spaces developed in the composite projects have a high potential for exploitation. For example data rooms were developed in which patient data can be used safely and efficiently for scientific purposes. A project in construction has promoted the digitization of construction planning and approval processes. The multilingual AI language model Teuken-7b was developed and published in a cross-application project. It enables sensitive company data or personal data to be used according to the highest European data protection and security standards.
The projects are now working on making their results usable over the end of the term and transferring them to further industries and applications. The resulting data rooms and smart services create new opportunities to safely exchange data - for companies and organizations but also for consumers. This enables data -based business models that are transparent and safe and always leave citizens control of their data.
Gaia-X
GAIA-X is an open framework for building up a competitive and trustworthy data infrastructure for Europe. The goal is a digital data ecosystem in which data can be shared and linked to each other via open interfaces according to defined EU standards. The result is not a new cloud infrastructure but a federated system of data in which many different cloud providers and data owners can connect based on common standards. It differs from the existing solutions on the market: the data always remain with their owners and are shared according to specified conditions-a transparent and safe data exchange within the GAIA-X ecosystem.
With the GAIA-X the BMWK promoted the implementation of applications and the establishment of data rooms that set up on GAIA-X with the GAIA-X funding competition (funding announcement in the digital ecosystem GAIA-X ). The eleven winning projects have a lighthouse character and are intended to strengthen the demand for GAIA-X-based data-driven applications and data rooms.
More information about Gaia-X can be found on the homepage of the. Information on the GAIA-X support competition and an overview of the funded projects can be found on the website of and.
