PKP Polish Railway Lines S.A. has announced a tender for the construction of a car park in the area of the railway station in B?dmy?l. The implementation of the investment task will provide better opportunities to change from various means of transport to rail. The investment was planned as part of the Government Bus Stop Program.
The B?dmy?l railway station is located in the municipality of S?dziszów Ma?opolski, on the section of the E30 Kraków – Medyka railway line. The construction of a car park in the vicinity of the platforms will increase the access of the local community to the railway. It will make it easier for residents to combine travel by train, car or bicycle.
The tender includes the construction of 50 parking spaces, including three parking spaces for people with reduced mobility. For lovers of two-wheelers, 15 covered bicycle racks will be installed. The car park will be equipped with lighting, which will make it easier for travellers to change trains also at dusk. Security will be increased by the installation of video surveillance. The task also includes the construction of a 2-metre-wide pavement, providing convenient access to the platforms.
The investment, which includes an interchange car park in B?dmy?l, was included in the "Government Programme for the Construction or Modernisation of Railway Stops for 2021–2025". The programme envisages the construction of over 100 car parks throughout Poland, at existing and newly built passenger train stopping points.
The aim of the "Government Programme for the Construction or Modernisation of Railway Stops for 2021-2025" is to counteract transport exclusion, promote environmentally friendly means of transport and support the Polish economy. In the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, the Stop Programme includes 10 platform investments from the basic list in the following towns: Przemy?l, Hurko, Medyka, ?urawica, Ropczyce, Strzy?ów, Mielec (two stops), Chorzelów, Zaklików. Contracts for the design and execution of works for 9 of them have already been completed.
