📋 Tender Overview
The new road tunnel in Andrespol will ensure safe and efficient passage under the tracks of the ?ód? - Koluszki and ?ód? - D?bica lines. The investment at the Bedo? stop is being carried out in cooperation with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA and the Municipality of Andrespol. The facility is being built as part of a nationwide project worth approx. PLN 268 million "Improvement of safety at the intersections of railway lines and roads – Stage III" with EU funding from the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment (OPI&E).
The investment along the road connecting Andrespol and Bedo? Przyko?cielny will guarantee safety in rail traffic, m.in on the line from ?ód? to Warsaw. The passage under the four tracks will ensure better car communication, and the collision-free intersection will replace the rail-road crossing. Thanks to this, drivers will be able to cross the tracks comfortably and will not have to wait in front of closed gates for the train to pass.
"The construction of a road tunnel under the railway line in the ?ód? agglomeration is an investment that is part of the efforts to improve safety through the construction of two-level rail-road crossings. Thanks to the cooperation between PLK SA and local authorities, railway passengers, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians can benefit from convenient and collision-free communication at the junction of the road and tracks," said Andrzej Bittel, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Government Plenipotentiary for Counteracting Transport Exclusion.
"The investment in Andrespol will improve transport on the ?ód? – Koluszki and ?ód? – D?bica routes and further towards Warsaw. Throughout the country, thanks to cooperation with local governments and the use of EU funds, we are building efficient crossings. The effect of the implementation of projects under the National Railway Programme is an increase in safety in rail transport and road transport," said Ireneusz Merchel, President of the Management Board of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA.
The value of the investment is approx. PLN 29.9 million, of which PLK will allocate PLN 18.6 million for this purpose, and the Municipality of Andrespol PLN 11.3 million. By the end of this year, the railway construction works should be completed.
Safer on the railways and on the roads
The construction of a collision-free intersection in Andrespol is part of the project implemented by PKP PLK SA to improve safety at the junction of railway lines and roads. Its most important goal is to replace rail-road crossings with collision-free crossings. PLK implements the program in cooperation with local government units and road managers.
In the ?ód? Voivodeship, as part of the project "Improvement of safety at the intersections of railway lines and roads – Stage III", a road viaduct has already been built over the tracks in Skierniewice. At the beginning of September this year, a road tunnel under the tracks between Ga?ków Du?y and Ga?ków Ma?y was put into operation. On the railway network in this province, 20 collision-free facilities will be built.
In recent years, PLK has also built safe underground passages in the ?ód? Voivodeship. Pedestrian tunnels were built, m.in in ?owicz, Pabianice, Zdu?ska Wola and Zgierz.
Safe crossings are also being built as part of other projects of the National Railway Programme, m.in on the modernised lines: Pozna? - Warsaw, Kraków - Rzeszów, Warsaw - Bia?ystok and Warsaw - Lublin. The investments are co-financed from the budget and as part of EU projects.
