On 10 March, passengers will be able to use the rebuilt platform no. 1a at the station in Skar?ysko-Kamienna. PKP Polish Railway Lines SA has completed the main construction works on it and the western part of the station. The investment will increase the capacity of the railway line No. 25 in the direction of Tomaszów Mazowiecki and facilitate access to trains. The project worth almost PLN 9 million was financed from the state budget.
Platform no. 1a at the station in Skar?ysko-Kamienna has undergone a thorough reconstruction. The new platform has been enlarged and raised, which will make it easier for passengers to board the carriages. New shelters, benches and landings will improve the comfort of waiting for the train. PLK SA adapted the modernized platform to the needs of people with reduced mobility. There are guidance paths and a surface with a varied structure. Information boards and a sound system will make it easier to plan your trip, and the new lighting will help you find your way around even after dark. Construction work also included part of the tracks on the west side of the station.
Thanks to the investment, PLK SA will increase access to the railway for travellers in Skar?ysko-Kamienna. From 10 March, after the timetable has been corrected, regional trains will stop at the modernised platform, serving the route in the direction of Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The investment will improve the station's capacity and provide additional parking space for trains. The task entitled "Modernization of platform no. 1a with accompanying works at the Skar?ysko-Kamienna station" is another project increasing the comfort of passengers on the railway line no. 25 on the section to Tomaszów Mazowiecki. In 2021, the platforms in Skar?ysko Milica, Bli?yn, St?porków, Ko?skie and Opoczno were modernized.
