📋 Tender Overview
Since March 9, travelers and residents of the Zdu?ska Wola district have been using the new Izabelów stop, which provides convenient train journeys towards ?ód? and Sieradz. The PLK SA investment was implemented as part of the "Government program for the construction or modernization of railway stops for the years 2021-2025". The value of the works is almost PLN 7.7 million net.
The Izabelów stop was built near the railway viaduct on the ?ód? – Zdu?ska Wola – Sieradz line, above the local road that connects the towns of Izabelów and Czech Republic. Thanks to it, the accessibility of rail transport for residents of this region has increased. On weekdays, Izabelów will be served by 44 trains of the ?ód? Agglomeration Railway and Polregio. The trains run to ?ód?, Sieradz, Ostrów Wielkopolski and Warsaw.
Our goal is to create an integrated and modern transport system throughout the country. This is a key element in building the economic, territorial and social cohesion of our country. The Przystankowy Programme, by increasing the access of local communities to rail transport, contributes to the implementation of these assumptions, while supporting the development of the Polish economy - said Dariusz Klimczak, Minister of Infrastructure.
We have adjusted the platforms to the height of the trains, which will make it easier for passengers to get on and off the trains. We have installed comfortable shelters and benches. Modern LED lighting allows safe travel even after dark. Orientation is facilitated by boards with clear markings and display cases with timetables. Convenient access to the platforms is provided by stairs and lifts for people with limited mobility. The lifts will be put into use after obtaining a permit for use by the Transport Technical Supervision. We expect this to happen in March. A car park with 12 parking spaces and bicycle racks will be built in the vicinity of the stop.
The Izabelów stop is an important step towards improving the quality of life of the residents of the Zdu?ska Wola district. Thanks to the investment, they will gain better access to regional and inter-provincial connections, which will significantly facilitate daily travel to school and work. In this way, we are creating conditions for the development and integration of the region – said Ma?gorzata Kuczewska-?aska, Member of the Management Board, Financial Director at PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA
The investment was carried out in the "design and build" formula. The Izabelów stop is scheduled to be put into service on March 9.
We are glad that both large investments and those located in smaller towns are being implemented in the ?ód? region. Izabelów is the 200th stop where trains of the ?ód? Agglomeration Railway will stop. It started with just over 40. This clearly shows how dynamically our regional carrier and the entire railway network in the region have developed over the last 10 years - emphasized Joanna Skrzydlewska, Marshal of the ?ód? Voivodeship.
We are proud that so many passengers have trusted the ?ód? Agglomeration Railway. Last year, over 11 million passengers took advantage of our offer. However, this success would not have been possible without investments such as the one in Izabelów. Thanks to the new stops, we can expand our offer for residents and guarantee them a peaceful, fast and safe journey to school, work, doctor or cultural institution - added Maciej Sobieraj, president of the ?ód? Agglomeration Railway.
The Stopover Program in the ?ód? Voivodeship
The Izabelów stop was built as part of the "Government program for the construction or modernization of railway stops for the years 2021-2025". In the ?ód? province, the Program covers 16 locations. Passengers are already using the newly built stops: ?ód? Zarzew on the line connecting the Widzew and Chojny housing estates, Zgierz Rudunki, Stare Grudze and G?owno Pó?nocne on the ?ód? - ?owicz route, Jedlicze near Zgierz on the ?ód? - Kutno line, Tomaszówek on the Tomaszów Mazowiecki - Opoczno line, Warto M?yny, Nowa Brze?nica, Dubidze (Pie?ki Dubidzkie), Dubidze Kolonia (Strzelce Wielkie), Bia?a Szlachecka (Bia?a) on the route from ?ód? to Cz?stochowa via Zdu?ska Wola and the modernized Zaosie and ?akowice Po?udniowe on the ?ód? - Tomaszów Mazowiecki line. The Wistka stop between Chorzew Siemkowice and Cz?stochowa is nearing completion. The renovation of the Wykno stop on the Koluszki – Tomaszów Mazowiecki route is at the tender stage.
The aim of the Stops Programme is to counteract transport exclusion, promote ecological means of transport and support the Polish economy. The planned investment tasks will enable passengers to access provincial and interprovincial rail transport. Throughout the country, the Programme envisages the construction or modernisation of 214 railway stops, for over PLN 1 billion, and the construction of over 150 car parks at existing and newly built stops, for approx. PLN 100 million.
