All public administration units including local government units can already use the central procurement for the cloud service of the office package - Microsoft Office 365.For starters the office suiteThe Government Administration Service Center COAR commissioned by the Minister of Digitization successfully conducted a procedure to conclude a framework contract for the supply of four types of office suite in the cloud - Microsoft Office 365.The framework contract was concluded with three suppliers for one year. This means that until June 2024 all public administration units including local governments public universities or cultural institutions may purchase the office package service under this agreement.The enforcement procedure is carried out electronically on the COAR purchasing platform. It has a simplified form and lasts a few days. Each of the three suppliers submits a price offer in response to an inquiry from a specific unit and the latter selects the contractor that offers the most favorable price conditions.- So far each unit has prepared and conducted its own procedure for the purchase of an office suite. This is very inefficient so we decided to change it. Central procurement is not only a huge saving of working time for individual units but also the possibility of obtaining the best conditions for the provision of services. Whats more in this way we also care about the security of citizens data processed in the cloud - explains Janusz Cieszyski Minister of Digitization.More central proceedings coming soonMinister Cieszyski assures that this is only the beginning of activities in this area. Further central proceedings for cloud services are at an advanced stage of preparation - a package of infrastructural services so-called IaaS and SaaS services dedicated to local government units. They will also be implemented by the Government Administration Service Center in cooperation with the Ministry of Digitization.The minister hopes that central procurement will gain popularity not only in the area of cloud services. - So far COAR has carried out orders that could be used by at most several dozen government administration units. Several thousand units may benefit from the framework agreement we are talking about. This is a breakthrough in public procurement.
