The government wants to provide consumers with easy access to Polish, local products. That is why we propose to introduce a "local shelf" in stores. This maximizes the shortening of the transport distance from the field to the table. Thanks to this, we omit intermediaries, and the entire profit will go to the Polish farmer. The draft will be adopted on a circular basis after taking into account the technical comments.
Key solutions:
Providing consumers with access to local, Polish products;
Shortening the food supply chain. It will contribute to a more resilient supply to crises and ensure food security at local level;
Ensuring the sale of local products such as fruit and vegetables, meat and meat products, milk and dairy products and bread in retail trade units, in the following order:
- within the county and adjacent counties;
- within the voivodship and adjacent voivodships;
- within the provinces adjacent to the adjacent provinces;
Obliging food retailers to conduct educational and information campaigns on local products in the retail or wholesale trade unit at least once a year;
Placing graphics depicting the flag of the Republic of Poland on local products.
