📋 Tender Overview
The Koszalin Narrow Gauge Railway and the ?u?awy Commuter Railway have received elements from PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. that will allow them to maintain the good condition of the tracks of the historic railway. The unused equipment and elements of the railway lines will enlarge the collections in the Railway Museum in Czeremsza and will be an educational aid for students in Stargard. For years, the infrastructure manager has been supporting institutions and organisations involved in the protection of railway technology heritage.
Unused infrastructure elements gain a new use. Thanks to the support of the infrastructure manager, it is possible to conduct recreational narrow-gauge crossings. Unused equipment and devices are also an attraction of many exhibitions and a source of information about the history of railways. Donations from PLK SA also support schools. They allow students of railway faculties to better prepare for the profession.
The Koszalin Narrow Gauge Railway Company received further railway superstructure materials (m.in. bolts, nuts, screws) worth over PLN 157 thousand, which were no longer used by PLK SA. The Society is the infrastructure manager and carrier of the historic narrow-gauge railway line Koszalin - Rosnowo - Bobolice, built in 1898. Annually, the Society's trains carry about 17,000 passengers. The elements donated by PLK SA will allow for the renovation of the tracks on the Manowo - Rosnowo route. Most of the rails in this section date back to the 19th century. The completion of the works, planned for October/November this year, will ensure that the Society maintains efficient cable car rides.
The Pomeranian Society of Railway Enthusiasts received 3 drives with mounts and control rods, which were installed on the ?u?awy Commuter Railway in Rybina. The total value of the donation is approx. PLN 35 thousand. In 2023, the ?u?awy Commuter Railway, of which the Society is the operator and the Nowy Dworski District is the owner, transported less than 93 thousand passengers. Changes in the frequency of train traffic in 2023 translated into nearly 120 days of operation per year.
It's the turn of history and education
The National Friendly Transport Association has received a donation, which will be used for the exhibition at the Railway Museum in Czeremsha. Thanks to the acquired elements (m.in. a two-arm semaphore, a power supply cabinet, a tensioner), the museum's outdoor exhibition will show railway technology in detail. Other m.in elements of the station lock or signal levers will enrich the museum's internal exhibition. The materials were obtained as part of works on the railway line No. 31 on the section of the voivodeship border – Czeremcha – Hajnówka. The value of the donation is about PLN 1900.
The Complex of Construction and Technical Schools in Stargard received from PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. an element from the reconstruction of line 351 Stargard Station as part of investment works with a total value of PLN 24 thousand. A donation in the form of a complete railway turnout will enrich the school's teaching resources and help students prepare for the profession.
In recent years, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. has made more than 140 donations to institutions that promote and care for the history of railways. In 2023, the "worn-out" railway equipment was also handed over to schools, m.in. the Centre for Vocational and Continuing Education in Sosnowiec, the School Complex for Continuing Education in Rzeszów and the Construction and Technical Complex in Stargard.
