Public official was removed from his duties for obtaining undue benefits. In its firm commitment to transparency and strict compliance with the rules, the Peruvian Institute of Sports (IPD) issued Chief Resolution No. 000137-2024-UP-OGA/IPD on October 3, 2024, imposing a precautionary measure against the president of the Regional Sports Council (CRD) of Cajamarca, Luis Fernando Soriano Ramirez, immediately removing him from his duties due to serious accusations of illicit acts that transgress the ethical and legal norms of the public service.
The IPD made this decision after an exhaustive investigation that revealed the magnitude of the irregularities committed by Soriano Ramirez. The employee used his position to obtain undue benefits, flagrantly violating the principles of the Law of the Code of Ethics of the Public Service (Law No. 27815) and the Civil Service Law (Law No. 30057). These violations, considered serious, are classified in article 85 of the Civil Service Law, which establishes severe sanctions for this type of conduct.
Before this measure, Soriano Ramirez had already been suspended for 15 days without pay, since June 3, 2024, after preliminary investigations indicated his involvement in serious violations of the regulations. Despite having been reinstated on June 22, 2024, the overwhelming evidence led the IPD to apply the precautionary measure to safeguard the principles of transparency and ensure that legality prevails while the disciplinary process is completed.
The IPD warns that there will be no concessions for those who violate public trust and transgress the laws. These types of sanctions are implemented as a firm warning to all public officials: any failure to comply with the regulations will be sanctioned with the utmost rigor, in defense of national sport and ethics in public administration. This case should serve as a clear and compelling example of the consequences that will be faced by those who break the law, to the detriment of the institution.
