There are 25 schools that have the full school day mode.In the Lambayeque region, the National Community School Food Program Wasi Mikuna (House food) of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion, serves 8842 secondary education students, under the complete school day modality.
These schoolchildren belong to 25 public educational institutions, which have an extended schedule of permanence in classes. For this reason, food care consists of breakfast and lunches that are prepared and consumed in educational institutions.
According to the head of the Lambayeque Territorial Unit, Robert Tineo, all products delivered by the Social Program go through strict controls that guarantee their quality and safety for the safe consumption of students.
Wasi Mikuna reinforces healthy eating, providing students with all food groups such as proteins, carbohydrates and fats; as well as necessary nutrients so that our students remain active and with energy in classes, said the official.
He also stressed that every 25 days there is an endowment of food to the School Food Committees (CAE) and, within the framework of the co -management model, it is the fathers and mothers who organize themselves to guarantee the optimal conditions of storage of the products; as well as their preparation for the consumption of students.
It should be noted that, as part of its continuous improvement process, Wasi Mikuna implements supervision and monitoring strategies to ensure that food delivered in educational institutions are safe, nutritious and quality, thus guaranteeing the well -being of Lambaecan students.
