With the aim of consolidating knowledge and promoting science and technology, the Geological, Mining and Metallurgical Institute (Ingemmet) received the visit of 22 students from the María Estela Toledo Palomino Study Center of the Professional School of Chemical Engineering of the National University of Callao (UNAC), who learned about the analysis of major elements, liquid samples and the chemistry laboratory.
On behalf of Eng. Henry Luna, Executive President of Ingemmet, the Director of Laboratories, Eng. Luis Vargas welcomed the students, to whom he explained the functions and research carried out by the institution. "It is gratifying to have them visit so recurrently, the National University of Callao is the house of studies that shows more interest in providing practical visits to its students," he said.
The study visit included a tour of the chemistry laboratory in the environments of chromatography, x-ray fluorescence, icp-ms, instrumentation and physical chemistry. Likewise, a talk on general aspects was given by Eng. Mario Javier Hernández addressing the determination of dissolved and total metals, determination of anions, determination of Ph and alkalinity in water.
Ingemmet, fulfilling its commitment to encourage and promote scientific knowledge in professionals in its areas, makes its various research studies available to academic institutions, as well as its various environments, for their free visit in a didactic and interactive way.
