π Tender Overview
Specialists are trained to develop the new functions delegated to the 24 decentralized offices of the OEFA, attached to the Ministry of the Environment.
In order to strengthen the presence of the Environmental Assessment and Oversight Agency (OEFA) at the national level, more than 50 supervisors are being trained in the use of drones and GPS, environmental regulations, management of geospatial information systems and environmental emergencies.
The national training day, which takes place from January 20 to 31 in the city of Lima, also addresses other key issues such as environmental monitoring of air, water, soil, sediments and noise; the use of monitoring equipment; and solid waste management.
Juan Narciso Chavez, president of the Board of Directors of the OEFA, urged supervisors to lead environmental oversight throughout the national territory to guarantee environmental quality and sustainable development. In addition, he stressed that, in order to improve response capacity and strengthen environmental control throughout the country, in August 2024 the OEFA delegated various functions to its 24 decentralized offices, which requires professional, responsible and committed work with the country.
During the first day of the national training day for environmental supervisors of the decentralized offices, the Minister of the Environment, Juan Carlos Castro; the general manager of the OEFA, Miriam Alegria; and directors, heads and environmental supervisors of the decentralized offices participated.
