π Tender Overview
Regions receive technical assistance from geographic information system experts. To strengthen capacities in the forest zoning process, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) through the National Forest and Wildlife Service (SERFOR) and its Sustainable Productive Forests Program (BPS), delivered state-of-the-art technological equipment to nine regional governments in Peru.
As part of this effort, the BPS has delivered the first interactive screens to the regional management of Junin and Madre de Dios, tools that will allow specialists to analyze geographic maps and forest data in high resolution, optimizing decision-making for sustainable forest management.
The program includes the provision of specialized software, such as ARGIS Pro, a geographic information systems tool that allows for the efficient processing, analysis and sharing of geospatial information.
We have also made available a total of 14 specialists in Forest Zoning and Geographic Information Systems to provide technical assistance to regional governments in the forest zoning process, said Daniel Rivera Chumbiray, executive coordinator of the SERFOR BPS program.
This initiative will benefit the regions of influence of the SERFOR BPS program, such as Ancash, Cajamarca, Huanuco, Junin, Loreto, San Martin, Madre de Dios, Pasco and Ucayali, with the aim of contributing to the conservation of forests and the sustainable development of local communities.
With these actions, MIDAGRI and SERFOR reaffirm their commitment to the protection of Perus forest heritage, to promote responsible environmental management aligned with sustainable development goals.
