π Tender Overview
Currently there are some buildings in the country that have an innovative seismic isolation system a technology that reduces the impact of telluric movements by up to 80.This mechanism is made up of structural elements that include the so-called seismic isolators devices that are rigid vertically and flexible horizontally which allow the energy of the tremor to be dissipated. These pieces serve as shock absorbers when the ground shakes as they reduce the transmission of vibrations from the ground to the building. Its function is to reduce very significantly the damage to the structure. To date there are two sustainable projects certified by the MiVivienda Fund -an entity attached to the Ministry of Housing Construction and Sanitation MVCS- that have already been delivered which have this system. One is in the Lima fence and the second in Chorrillos.Ancient anti-seismic techniqueIt should be noted that the Caral culture some 5000 years old has left as a legacy an ancient anti-seismic technique called Shicras. These are woven bags containing stones which were placed under the foundations for their earthquake-resistant properties.Showing a behavior similar to current technology a first stage of studies was developed to evaluate its application in adobe and compacted earth houses. For this tests were carried out on vibrating tables with seismic accelerations similar to those produced in the Huaraz earthquake 1970 which gave very favorable results. It is pending to develop a second stage to be able to formalize its inclusion as a regulation of the MVCS according to the Construction Directorate of the General Directorate of Policies and Regulation in Construction and Sanitation of the ministry.
