📋 Tender Overview
The EPS Modernization Program, in partnership with the World Bank and the Ministry of Housing, will begin the projects "Expansion of the Drinking Water Distribution System of the city of Cusco" and "Expansion of the Drinking Water and Sewerage System in Four Districts of Cusco", projects that will benefit more than 11 thousand inhabitants of the districts of Cusco. Santiago, San Jerónimo and San Sebastián.
With a budget of more than 32 million soles, the start of work marks the beginning of an intervention that is expected to be completed in approximately 270 calendar days. The implementation of these long-awaited projects will have a very positive impact on the quality of life of the population.
The financing for these projects comes from the EPS Modernization Program (Promotass), through a loan granted by the World Bank. The execution will be carried out by the National Urban Sanitation Program (PNSU) of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, with the active participation of the contractor company Consorcio Cusco 4 Suyos, composed of outstanding entities such as Compañía de Ingeniería Ambiental SRL – COLINA SRL and HI-PRO Ecológicos SA de CV.
The interventions will be carried out in 11 APVs, belonging to the districts of Santiago, San Sebastián, San Jerónimo and Cusco.
The president of the C.C. Pillao Matao, Placido Daza Huaman of the district of San Jerónimo spoke on the matter:
"I thank the MVCS and then the engineers for executing this immense work that we expected. Years we were suffering from sewage and water and now it's going to be a reality. We didn't believe and now we believe that it's going to be executed, that it's going to become a reality."
It is expected to provide the population of CC Pillao Matao with approximately 1700 new installations for both drinking water and sewerage, significantly improving sanitary conditions and access to basic services in the region.
It is important to note that the implementation of these projects will alleviate in some way the consequences of the water deficit announced for next year throughout the southern region.
This sanitation milestone represents a firm commitment to improving infrastructure and, consequently, to the quality of life of beneficiaries in the four districts, marking significant progress towards a more sustainable future for the Cusco region.
