PCM installed an intersectoral and intergovernmental coordination group that will promote interventions to close gaps and improve competitiveness. Investment projects aimed at improving the provision of services, the quality of life of the population and the competitiveness of the Moquegua region will be prioritized in the technical table for development, installed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) to articulate between the three levels of government and the various sectors of the Executive a strategy of comprehensive interventions.
In Moquegua, the Vice Minister of Territorial Governance of the PCM, Juan Haro, highlighted that this working group will promote a portfolio of investment projects and interventions for the sustainable development of urban and rural areas of the region.
The projects and interventions that will be prioritized will not only be aimed at closing gaps, but also at strengthening the productive development of the region and optimizing its competitiveness indicators. The Executive listens to local authorities directly because they know better than anyone else the needs of their districts and provinces, said the vice minister.
For her part, the regional governor of Moquegua, Gilia Gutierrez, welcomed the installation of this articulated work space in which the provincial and district mayors of the region will be able to present their alternative solutions to manage better sanitation, health, education and road infrastructure, among other items.
We really want to make this space useful so that it not only serves to present projects, but that we really obtain results for our population, said the regional governor.
The installation session of the Technical table for the comprehensive development of the department of Moquegua was attended by representatives of the ministries of Education; Agrarian Development and Irrigation; Transport and Communications; and Environment. Also the provincial mayors of Mariscal Nieto, John Larry Coayla; Ilo, Jesus Tapia Garay; and Sanchez Cerro (e), Julio Escobedo Chora; as well as several district mayors.
For the PCM, the Secretary of Decentralization, Mabel Galvez, and the Undersecretary of Dialogue Management of the Secretariat of Social Management and Dialogue, Carlos Eyzaguirre, also participated.
It was agreed to hold a next session on February 6 and 7, to which representatives of civil society will be invited.
