The President of the Republic Martn Vizcarra announced today that with the Peru Start program it is expected to recover the countrys economic situation boosting the productive sectors and increasing investments in large works which will generate more than a million jobs for Peruvians.By applying strict quarantine as an initial measure to deal with the pandemic we knew that the economy would be affected. In April economic activity worked at 44 of its potential but since May with the gradual restart of some sectors we have entered into a frank process of reactivation of the economy a process that will restore production capacity in the country. In this regard he pointed out that as a government the productive sectors have been working to increase the goals set for this year both to generate more work for Peruvians and to boost large investments.He added that by speeding up the procedures for the reactivation of economic activities the economy will be energized. It is a less bureaucratic start because we have to get business to start off strong to generate the work and growth that the country requires.The head of state specified that this week the Council of Ministers will approve the Emergency Decree of Start Peru so that investments and programs in key sectors such as Transport Housing Agriculture and Labor are implemented in the shortest possible time and are reflected in the second half of this year.In this regard he specified that the additional investment that will be directed to boost these productive sectors will be 6436 million soles. About 4 billion soles will be destined for maintenance projects of the neighborhood road network in all regions 535 million soles to finance bonds to boost construction of 20000 new homes 937 million soles for the improvement of tracks and sidewalks 373 million for hydraulic infrastructure and 694 million for additional financing for Trabaja Per.With these actions a million Peruvians will access new decent jobs. Furthermore the quality of life of the population in all regions will be improved.Reconstruction of the northIn the framework of this path of economic recovery the head of state reported that the major reconstruction projects in the north will be in the process of being implemented and developed. In this sense he explained that the government that will be in charge of these works is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.Today the Authority for Reconstruction with Changes has concluded its negotiation process and the winning country has assumed an enormous responsibility. Although progress is being made with regional governments and ministries there are large infrastructure works that can be faced and developed with better capacity. He said.In this regard he stressed that with this form of government-to-government contract 15 hospitals will be built in Piura Lambayeque La Libertad Ancash and Lima as well as 74 schools in Tumbes Piura La Libertad Ancash Huancavelica Cajamarca and Lima.In addition seven storm drains will be executed in Tumbes Piura Lambayeque and La Libertad and the treatment of 17 rivers and 5 streams will be carried out in Tumbes Piura Lambayeque La Libertad Ancash Lima and Ica.These works represent more than 7 billion soles of investment. This year the investment will be around 1500 million soles. Conglomerates and shopping centersOn the other hand President Martn Vizcarra announced that this Wednesday the Council of Ministers will approve the Supreme Decree that will allow the reopening of conglomerates and shopping centers.Within the process of restarting economic activities in stages 1 and 2 conglomerates and shopping centers were not included. However it is a necessity that they restart. For this a gradual restart must be achieved but guaranteeing the necessary protocols to safeguard the health of people and their compliance. He stressed that a limited capacity of people hygiene spaces a distance of one meter and the use of masks must be ensured. These are necessary conditions that must be respected to find the balance between generating jobs and boosting the economy but preserving the health of people.
